i am a slow writer. please be as patient with me as you can manage. off screen i am an adult with a full time job, a family to take care of and a social life to attempt to keep alive. as much as i'd like to get paid for writing our silly little stories on the internet, this is a hobby and other things will take precedence. also i am a procrastination fiend! please accept my most sincere apologies in advance for taking too long, hugs and kisses. if i drop a thread, i will let you know.my writing style is pretty simple. para/novella, with icons and simple formatting focusing on bold and italics. i don't care about other people's formatting, i simply do it for my own enjoyment.currently not using the queue as much as i should, but i'm working on it. i am also a big fan of turning memes into threads!

Jared lost his family in the initial fight against the invasion — his father and three brothers didn’t heed his warnings, and stayed to fight. He saw them slain, their limp bodies carried into vehicles by Seekers dressed in black.He spends the next two years alone, driving his old truck down dirt roads and through deserts to avoid highly populated towns. He survives on stolen food and water, but it is not a life he’s living. He’s surviving, simple as that.In a fit of desperation, Jared carved a line into the back of his neck in order to more easily blend in with the Souls. The scar grew badly, and its rugged texture can be felt with a slight touch. Because of this, the only indication that Jared is a human is his vibrantly green eyes, void of a silvery line around the irises.He meets Melanie Stryder on a food run. At first he thinks she’s a Soul, but the lack of an incision on her neck convinces him otherwise. They team up, and Jared quickly becomes a parental figure to Melanie’s younger brother Jamie. ⟢ . modern. after graduating high school, anna leaves the norwegian west coast and moves to washington, where she studies economics with a minor in political science. after college, she gets a job as a democratic senator's staff assistant on capitol hill.
note: washington and capitol hill can easily be swapped out with other locations.

.TIMELINE.

⟢ . 1949, november 2nd. anna hellevik is born in dirdal, a small farmer's village south-west of stavanger.
⟢ . 1963, january. anna meets christian while on a school skiing tournament in sirdal.
⟢ . 1965. christian asks anna to be his girlfriend.
⟢ . 1967, june. anna graduates from videregående, the norwegian equivalent of high school.
⟢ . 1969, august. anna starts working as arne rettedal's secretary.
⟢ . 1971, december. anna sleeps with jonathan.
⟢ . 1972, june. anna ends her engagement to christian two weeks before the wedding.
⟢ . 1972, august. anna moves to bergen to study economics and enters a long distance relationship with jonathan.
⟢ . 1976, summer and fall. anna finishes her degree in bergen, moves back to stavanger and begins to apply for work.
⟢ . 1977, winter. anna and jonathan marry.
⟢ . 1977, april. still unemployed, anna takes jonathan's advice and starts applying for work as arne hellevik. not long after this she is employed as a civil economist with the norwegian petroleum directorate.
⟢ . 1980, march 27th. jonathan dies in the alexander l. kielland disaster.
